Career path:

An engineer by training, Mr. Edouard Clément holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal (BEng. 2000- aeronautics concentration). Formerly a Research Associate at the Shape Memory Alloys and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LAMSI) of the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Mr. Clément also previously worked for the hydro division of General Electric.

In January 2005, seeking to apply his personal experience and interest in environmental and sustainable development issues, he joined CIRAIG's ranks as an Analyst. As such, he acquired an extensive expertise in life cycle assessment, ecodesign and sustainable procurement. M. Clément currently holds the position of Technical Coordinator at both the CIRAIG and the International Chair in Life Cycle Assessment and supervises a large team of experienced professionals in the fields of life cycle assessment and life cycle management. To date, he has participated in and managed more than 70 LCA projects for the CIRAIG, one of the largest research center in the world in the field of life cycle assessment.

Mr Clément is actively involved in guiding businesses and institutions, in Quebec and abroad, towards more sustainable production and consumption practices. Sharing his insight and passion for sustainable development and life cycle management issues, Mr Clément has presented close to thirty scientific and public conferences on these topics over the past few years.
