Development of a prospective LCA methodology based on consequential LCA

Project summary:

The main project objective is to develop of a prospective LCA methodology based on consequential LCA. This will be accomplished through assessment of environmental impacts from European energy production in 2025. Thus, two prospective scenarios where different energy policies are applied in the European Union will be evaluated. Economic disturbance caused by an important rise in biomass demand, evolution of economic markets through time, and technical improvements occurring until 2025 will be include in this evaluation. This study will also highlight the differences between methodologies used to model an economic disturbance, the evolution of technology, and managing uncertainty depending on the size of the product system.
