PRESENTATION AND MISSION

The International Life Cycle Chair is the main research unit of the CIRAIG, a key life cycle reference since 2001. The Chair began its research activities on January 1st 2012, continuing the work initiated by the International Chair in Life Cycle Assessment, a true pioneer in the field.

Born from a union between Polytechnique Montréal and ESG UQÀM, the Chair combines both engineering and social sciences and develops its research program through a multidisciplinary lens.

Built around key themes such as responsible production, consumption and governance, the Chair’s research program is designed to create an effective interaction between our partners’ needs and the scientific knowledge and tools developed.

To this day, the Chair remains one of the most significant private investment in life cycle research worldwide.

«THE INTERNATIONAL LIFE CYCLE CHAIR IS A REMARKABLE EXAMPLE OF INNOVATION BASED ON MAJOR INTERSECTORAL PROJECTS AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER TOWARDS FIRMS.»
