The water Tool is a calculator which allows the life-cycle assessment of potential impacts associated with the use (consumption and/or degradation) of water. It is based on the inventory and impact assessment methods developed by Boulay et al1,2. It calculates impacts at the midpoint level in m3 equivalent, and at the endpoint level on human health in DALY (disabled adjusted life years). The calculator will provide results as accurate as the data you will provide, which can go to generic country-wide data to specific watershed data, including or not quality aspects (degradative use). When no values are known for some parameters, default values are generally available. The minimum data necessary are the country where the system is and the volumes entering and leaving the product system.
